Preparing for your appointment

Specific aftercare instructions are provided before and after all treatments.

The following information is considered general preparation recommendations.

Late arrivals cannot be accepted and will be rescheduled.

As the clinic is generally fully booked; late arrivals may impair the next patients appointment or clinicians day.

Please allow for adequate time, considering traffic and parking conditions.

1. Your pre-consultation forms have been completed.
2. You are well rested.
3. You are hydrated.
4. You have avoided alcohol & any other potential recreational substances 24 hours prior to your appointment
5. You adhere to any specific pre-treatment recommendations. Many treatments require avoiding certain medications such as anti-inflammatories, aspirins or fish oils. If unsure, please enquire with our team prior to your appointment. 
6. You have adequate time for your appointment (Generally 45min for most).
7. You are prepared to follow the after-care of your treatment if a treatment is received.
8. You arrive on time.
9. You are pre-pared to adhere to your aftercare if a treatment is received. This may involve no make-up, not wearing a helmet, avoiding alcohol, exercise, saunas, swimming, yoga & other activities.

Pre and after care instructions will be discussed during your consultations, as well as before and after any received treatments.. 

This directions are an important aspect of the treatment received as these instructions recommended by your clinician are recommended to promote optimal treatment efficacy, prioritise your safety and to assist in the prevention any potential adverse events, side effects or undesired outcomes. 

Prepare for your appointment considering these recommendations, such as around important events or commitments.

These are only general instructions to guide patients, specific instructions are given during consult or on request via email.

Pre-Care

- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior.  

- Avoid anti-inflammatories, aspirins and fish oils for 48 hours prior.

- Arrive without make-up.

- If treating hair/scalp, wash  hair morning of treatment and apply no product to hair.

- Be aware that you may be red, swollen or bruised after.

- Avoid retinoids for 5 days prior.

- Arrive hydrated.

- Have a clean pillow-case ready. Silk pillow-case is recommended.

- Avoid having any fake tan on areas to be treated. 

- Avoid sun exposure prior to appointment.

- Avoid other face/skin treatments for 2 weeks prior and post treatment, 

- Avoid Laser treatments 2 weeks prior to treatment area.

After-Care:

- Avoid Alcohol for 72 post. 

- Avoid anti-inflammatory, aspirin or fish oils for 5 days post.

- Avoid saunas or intense heat exposure for 72 hours post.

- Avoid exercise for 72 hours post.

- Avoid swimming 5 days post.

- Avoid direct sunlight for 1 week post. Apply sunscreen religiously.
- Do not apply any bruise creams to treated areas if any bruising occurs from treatment.

- Ice may be applied, but avoid if possible.

- Avoid touching the treated areas,

- Change your pillowcase to a fresh pillow case.

- Do not apply hot water to treated areas for 72 hours, lukewarm or cold water is okay.

- Hyaluronic Acid Serum or approved skin care with your clinician may be applied to the treated area to hydrate.

- You may wear light make-up next day. 

- Do not pre-maturely exfoliate

- Do not pick at any dry/flakey skin should it occur. 

- You may exfoliate 5 days after treatment.

- Do not apply fake tan for 1 week after treatment.

- Skin purging may occur in the form of small bumps or pimples, do not touch, squeeze, treat or pick any purging / spots that may arise.

What are actives? 

BHAs: Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide

AHAs: Mandelic Acid , Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid

Retinol/retinoids

- Wash your face with only lukewarm water. 

- If you've had exosomes, do not wash your face the night of treatment, wait for morning after.

- Avoid Actives for 5 days post-treatment. This includes if in your serums, day / night creams/peels/exfoliators.

- Light moisturiser with no actives may be applied the day after treatment. 

- You may apply hyaluronic acid, niacinamide (B3), copper peptide, matrixyl serums morning and night. 

- You may exfoliate with a light exfoliator 5 days post-treatment.

- Avoid any and all skin treatments for 2 weeks post-treatment if micro-needling is received.

- Day 5, enjoy your glowing skin.

Hair Restoration Aftercare:

- Avoid washing your hair with any product for 3 days post-treatment.

- You may apply any products advised by your clinician to the treated area.

- Avoid Anti-inflammatories,  aspirins or fish oils for 5 days post-treatment.

- Avoid touching and picking the treated area as this may create infections and can facilitate further hair loss

- Avoid alcohol for 72 hours post treatment, this is highly recommended.

- Avoid rinsing with hot water, only rinse with lukewarm water when showering.

- Avoid using your hair dryer or applying heat to treated area for 5 days.
