Medical micro-needling

Medical Micro-Needling

At Aesthetic Support, we utilise two TGA Approved medical devices for our treatments.

Code-X and the reputable SkinPen.

about Medical micro-needling

Micro-Needling is a popular treatment that is often referred to by many names.

Skin needling, micro-needling or the medical term "Collagen Induction Therapy" are to only name a few..

Micro-needling is a delicate process, where a clinician gently glides a small device with tiny needles across the skin in an effort to generate controlled micro-injuries to a localised area; such as the face, neck or décolletage, although other areas of concern may be treated if suitable.

These tiny micro-injuries caused by the device then initiate the bodies natural healing response. The body draws blood to the treated area, where key nutrients are then delivered and platelets in the blood release growth factors; resulting in the skin to naturally regenerate.

Topically applied ingredients are often better absorbed during micro-needling, due to the channels created that reach deep into the skin.

The client may select optional add-on topical treatments or ingredients to target specific concerns, enhance results or reduce potential downtime.  Such as exosomes, rejuran polynucleotides and more.

Micro-needling can offer a variety of benefits to clients seeking improvements in areas such as but not limited to:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • General skin health
  • Saggy eyelids
  • Loose Skin
  • Improve skin collagen, thickness and elasticity.
  • Improve pigmentation concerns
  • improve uneven skin sone
  • Acne/atrophic scarring or uneven skin texture
  • Dull skin
  • Pore size

Topical ingredients or treatments may be applied during your session to penetrate through the micro-needling channels, in an effort to treat or improve specific concerns an individual may have.

Such add-ons include: Exosomes, Rejuran polynucleotides or prescription ingredients amongst other available treatments.

We are one of the leading providers of medical micro-needling, where our team consists only of Registered Nurses or Doctors striving to deliver a high standard of care,

Our core treatments such as low down-time micro-needling can only be done by a Registered Nurse or Medical Practitioner as our treatments may include prescription ingredients, meaning many micro-needling providers can not or do not offer our services such as low downtime micro-needling.

Our patients may enjoy same day to 24 hour redness resolution with our Low-Downtime micro-needling. There are currently no other providers with our combination treatments in the Sydney District.

Micro-needling is a quick and comfortable treatment.

Initially, your skin will be assessed and yourself consulted, any additives or add-ons you'd like discussed any questions answered.

Your face will then be cleansed and exfoliated.

As you comfortably lay back, relax and close your eyes, the clinician will begin treatment by gently gliding the device along your skin with your chosen ingredients.

At the end of treatment, a healing Rejuran PDRN ointment is applied and aftercare discussed, and given to you..

4 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart are recommended to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.

To maintain benefits of treatment, treatment can be repeated every 3-6 months or as often as individually required.

Micro-needling when conducted by a professional rarely requires the use of numbing agents.

Topical anaesthetics or numbing creams may have a negative impact on the efficacy of micro-needling, healing and results. Numbing creams may contain ingredients such as Lignocaine that when applied topically can cause a bodily response called "Vasoconstriction." This may reduce blood flow to the treated area for up to 4 hours post treatment, limiting the amount of important platelets and growth factor to flow to the treatment area. Numbing agents are not recommended by Aesthetic Support for this treatment, however for patient comfort may be applied if truly required. Numbing cream can be mildly applied when using our downtime reduction as this prescription ingredient counters the vasoconstriction of numbing agents.
